Description
Reporting to the Head Field Hockey Coach, the Assistant Field Hockey Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach to ensure the program’s success as directly related to the skill development and performance of the student athletes, as well as the recruitment, retention, and conduct of the student athletes. All staff members are responsible for the policy, procedures, and guidelines of Hofstra University and the job requirements specific to the particular assignments inherent to field hockey. This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists with the planning and coaching of practices, skill instruction, and development.
  • Assists with recruiting and the implementation and maintenance of a recruiting database.
  • Assists with organizing team travel arrangements, and team game day scouting.
  • Closely monitors student-athletes academic needs and performs other related administrative duties.
  • Assists in managing social media interactions/posts of the field hockey program ensuring they are meeting all department standards as well as NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Coordinates and submits NCAA recruiting, countable athletic related activity, and campus visit logs in a timely fashion in accordance with department, University and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of Hofstra University, Hofstra Athletic Department, NCAA, and CAA.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant coaching experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience using SportsCode and performing video analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Division I collegiate playing or coaching experience.
  • Knowledge or previous experiences with organizing and planning team fundraising events, clinics, and alumni engagement events.

Salary/Salary Range $40,000 - $41,350 ($3,000 annual car stipend)
