Job Summary/Basic Function | Central State University Athletics seeks an experienced and dynamic professional to join our leadership team. This is one position that will be filled based and titled based on the candidate’s qualifications, with the hiring pool and interview process determining the specific role: 1. Director of Compliance – A standalone position dedicated to NCAA compliance, rules education, and risk mitigation. 2. Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations & Compliance – A leadership role integrating compliance oversight with strategic internal operations for efficiency and risk management. 3. Deputy Athletic Director with Compliance Oversight – A senior-level position combining compliance responsibilities with high-level department administration and NCAA governance alignment. The selected candidate may also be designated as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) based on qualifications. All roles will also have the opportunity for sport oversight. Key Responsibilities: Compliance Oversight: · Organize and administer the Department of Athletics’ NCAA compliance program. · Certify student-athlete eligibility and monitor recruiting, NIL, financial aid, and practice regulations. · Develop and implement NCAA rules education for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and institutional personnel. · Conduct investigations into potential violations and maintain compliance monitoring systems. · Oversee policies and procedures related to amateurism, eligibility, recruiting, and financial aid. · Manage the transfer portal process and ensure adherence to NCAA and conference guidelines. · Complete NCAA reporting Internal Operations & Leadership (For Associate AD or Deputy AD Roles): · Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Department of Athletics. · Provide strategic leadership in department policies, budget management, and sport administration. · Work collaboratively with Human Resources for athletic department hiring processes. · Oversee scholarship management in coordination with Financial Aid and the Athletic Director. · Represent the athletics department in conference and national meetings, committees, and university functions. · Serve as a key liaison to campus departments, ensuring alignment of operations and compliance. · Lead staff development and training programs, including professional development for coaches and administrators. · Oversee assigned sports and provide direct support to coaches and student-athletes. Student-Athlete Success & Well-Being: · Assist in the development of programming focused on student-athlete academic success, NIL education, and peak performance. · Collaborate with Student Success staff to implement support initiatives for student-athletes. · Foster an environment that promotes equity, inclusion, and belonging for all student-athletes. Required Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications | · Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. · Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in NCAA compliance. · Deep knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and best practices. · Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. · Ability to work effectively with coaches, student-athletes, university staff, and external stakeholders. · Experience in policy development, risk management, and operational oversight preferred. · This is a role that works non-traditional hours(some holidays and weekends). · Must have the ability to operate a university vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license. |
