The Cheerleading Advisor is responsible for supporting all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.

Responsibilities include:

• Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes
• Plan and direct the development of skills necessary for successful cheerleading performance
• Schedule, attend, and direct all team practices and performances

The Cheerleading Advisor is responsible for supporting all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.

Responsibilities include:

• Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes
• Plan and direct the development of skills necessary for successful cheerleading performance
• Schedule, attend, and direct all team practices and performances
• Ensure all safety precautions are taken
• Maintain certifications required by PSAC, NCAA, or other governing body organizations
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director and assigned staff to administer allotted operating resources to provide equipment and supplies in support of the cheerleading program
• Collaborate to prepare a proposed annual operating budget
• Coordinate with the Sports Information Director to prepare media in support of the program
• Prepare and update the equipment inventory for the program in cooperation with the Equipment Manager
• Coordinate all fundraising activities to produce income for team-related activities and equipment
• Travel as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous collegiate playing or coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Collegiate coaching experience and expertise in the sport of cheerleading including safety requirements, movement, and choreography
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Experience coaching camps and /or clinics
• Fundraising experience
