Job Summary

Manages event operations for the Athletics Department. Ensures successful Division I event-day operations for athletic events in accordance with Cleveland State University (CSU), NCAA, and league policies. Serves as a liaison with stakeholders to ensure event success, venue safety, and outstanding customer service. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in sports management, physical education, or related field.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in athletic event operations, venue operations, facility management, or event management within collegiate, professional, youth, or community athletics. Experience includes any graduate assistant or internship roles.
• Ability to be flexible regarding daily work schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferably in sports management, physical education, or related field.
• Leadership experience Leading Division I athletic event operations, with basketball event management experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
• Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
• Ability to efficiently multi-task and provide responsiveness within and outside of the organization.
• Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
• Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
• Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
