Assistant Athletic Director of Cougar Production

Description :

Responsible for all aspects of on-air television and web-stream broadcast productions for University of Houston Athletics and "Cougar Network Productions"

1. Oversee and execute all live ESPN+ and Web Broadcasts.
   
2. Plans, directs and executes on-air live sporting events.
   
3. Pre and in-game production of live broadcast sporting events.
   
4. Hires, trains, and manages full-time and part-time staff personnel (including students) on all broadcasting and production requirements, including equipment training, broadcasting roles, positions, etc.
   
5. Directs the crews and employees assigned to events; conducts production and technical meetings to define crew responsibilities and outlines expectations for live broadcasts.
   
6. Makes real-time decisions regarding what pictures and sounds will be broadcasted; interprets data and information to decide camera angles, features, and sequences.
   
7. Works with engineering technicians for integration of all elements in a telecast including graphics, enhanced technology elements, switcher effects, composite music, etc.
   
8. Oversees the scheduling and management of full-time and part-time staff, crews, and on-air talent.
   
9. Serve as spokesperson/ambassador for the Athletics Department and the University of Houston. At all times and in all settings represent the Department and University in a way that positively reflects and grows my affinity for all things UH.
   
10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related, 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
