Emporia State University Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach. This position will assist the Head Coach in the development and management of the Baseball program. The Assistant Baseball Coach is also responsible for participating as a member of the college community and with all collaborative departmental functions as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

COACHING AND TRAINING DUTIES:

• Assistant Coach will provide the Head Coach with support in the administration of the program, training of the players, and development of competition strategy.
• Makes recommendations regarding individual and team performance.
• Works in conjunction with other coaching staff members to plan all aspects of the program.
• The Assistant Coach is actively engaged in the recruitment process.
• Coordinates travel and other arrangements for competition, and monitors athletes' academic progress.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively and to coordinate various aspects of the program while maintaining compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules.

FINANCIAL AND BUDGETING DUTIES:

• Works within sports budget limits and guidelines as established by the department.
• Assist with fundraising and developing relationships with supporters, parents, and alumni to help provide necessary funding for travel, equipment, and facility maintenance.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DUTIES:

• Along with External Relations staff, develop and implement a program to promote and market the program to increase visibility, contributions, and interest in the program. Conduct community service and fundraising activities to support the program and its mission.
• Participate in athletic department and sport specific marketing, public relations, civic and community outreach and fundraising/friend raising activities.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, MIAA Conference, Institute, and Department of Athletics rules, policies and expectations including commitment to lifelong learning, sportsmanship on and off the field of play, positive leadership and the desire and ability to act as a positive role model and representative of the Institute at all times.
• As a condition of employment, the employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
• Perform related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree
• 2 years of collegiate coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
• Coaching experience at a NCAA Division I or II institution

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be negotiable based upon education & experience
