About Us
Colorado College (“CC”) is a private, four-year, highly selective liberal arts college of 2,100 undergraduate students and a small Master of Arts in teaching program. It is located on a 99-acre campus adjacent to downtown, ‘Olympic City’, Colorado Springs. The campus sits on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains at the foot of Pikes Peak. The college operates an innovative curricular approach, known as the Block Plan, which entails students taking one course at a time for three and a half weeks, with the academic year divided into eight “blocks.” The Colorado College Department of Athletics sponsors 17 varsity programs. Fifteen programs compete at the NCAA Division III level and two at the Division I level. Division III programs are members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), except for Men’s Lacrosse (independent) and Women’s Lacrosse (WIAC affiliate). Division I Men’s Hockey is a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and Division I Women’s Soccer competes as an affiliate member of the Mountain West Conference (MWC).
Job Summary
Reporting to the head coach and adhering to the head coach philosophy the assistant coach will support the Head Hockey Coach in all aspects of operating a highly competitive Division I program. Assistance will include, but is not limited to, recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes, practice planning, scouting, scheduling, travel arrangements, program promotion, budget management, supervision of academic progress, alumni engagement, working with divisional and campus leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required plus a minimum of 5 years of combined experience playing and/or coaching men’s ice hockey at a championship level. Possess excellent leadership and communication skills. Proficient in computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel, and basic knowledge scouting software, recruiting software, social media platforms and video editing software; proven ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socio-economic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity; available to work evening and weekend hours and to travel extensively, often by airplane. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado College’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.
