Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Assistant Coach for men’s and women’s freeski is a part-time hourly position which reports to the Director of Freeski and Snowboard and is responsible for assisting with the coaching and management of the freeski program. 

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Program Director and head coach with the recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes
  • General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and experience in coaching freeskiing
  • Assist the Program Director and Head Coach with administrative tasks as assigned
  • Assist with practices, competitions, and travel
  • Support with the advancement of the program and athletes with sponsorships and career development where appropriate
  • Assist with equipment upkeep and maintenance, including waxing, ordering, etc. 
  • Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations
  • Required to provide and/or secure and maintain CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
  • Work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the university learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes
  • Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University’s mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Perform other duties as assigned
