The Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball, is critically involved in all aspects of the program, and shares some responsibilities with the Head Coach in key areas of the program such as recruiting, coordination of play, coaching tactics/strategies, budget management, staff oversight, etc.; the Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball has significant responsibility in the following areas, but not limited to: mentoring assistant coach(es); scheduling and team travel; promotion of the team and University; fundraising and alumni relations; practice planning; community service efforts, etc.; represents the Head Coach at meetings, fund-raising functions, and alumni events; adheres to State of Louisiana, University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations while supporting the core values of intercollegiate athletics.

Job Duties:

• Program planning and Administration

• Instructing Student-Athletes, Player Development, Game Planning, Teaching, Academic monitoring and support

• Recruiting Student-Athletes

• Program Development

Moreover, the Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball will:

• Continually promote the University's mission, vision, and accomplishments.

• Accept and be attentive to the health and welfare of student-athletes as a primary responsibility.

• Assist and support Head Basketball Coach with all areas of the women's basketball program.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and / or Head Basketball Coach.

• Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of UNO, Southland Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• Minimum of 1 - 3 years of basketball coaching experience

• Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA compliance policies and procedures

• Proven ability to develop, establish and sustain relationships with student-athletes, coaches, administration and various constituents.

• Excellent administrative, organizational and proven ability to recruit prospective student-athletes.

• Ability to work nights, weekends and travel as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• 2 - 4 years of NCAA Women's Basketball coaching experience.
