South Dakota Mines is searching for a qualified candidate for an Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. A priority of the position will be coaching the women’s and men’s cross country teams and the discovery and recruitment of qualified student-athletes in these event areas. South Dakota Mines is a member of the NCAA D-II and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and must follow and comply with all appropriate NCAA rules and regulations. This position is a 12-month benefited position at 100% effort from July 22 to May 21 and 50% effort from May 22 to July 21.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in cross country and middle and long distance. Additional duties in the department will include working with the wellness center. Ability to work with student-athletes is required.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Collegiate experience preferred and experience coaching or competing in one or more of the event groups listed is required. Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with recruits, student-athletes, coaches, and athletic department personnel.
