Jackson State University, an NCAA Division I (FCS) member of the NCAA and Southwestern Athletic Conference and one of the leading institutions of higher education in the region, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director for Stadium Management. The Assistant Director of Stadium Management is responsible for assisting in the overall operational management and maintenance of the stadium, ensuring it meets high standards of safety, functionality, and guest experience.

Examples of Duties

  • Operational Oversight: Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of the stadium, including maintenance, staffing, security, and event coordination to ensure all activities are executed according to plan.

  • Event Coordination: Work with event organizers, promoters, and team members to ensure the logistics of all events, including sporting events, concerts, and private functions, are smoothly executed. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure all needs are met.

  • Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising stadium staff, including maintenance personnel, security, and event staff. Provide ongoing support to ensure all teams are adequately prepared and equipped.

  • Budgeting & Financial Management: Assist in managing the budget for stadium operations and maintenance, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented while maintaining high-quality standards. Monitor expenditures and provide regular budget reports to the Director.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all stadium operations adhere to safety, security, and regulatory guidelines. Conduct regular safety checks and inspections of the facility and equipment. Work closely with safety officers to implement risk management strategies.

  • Facility Maintenance: Coordinate regular maintenance schedules for the stadium, including turf care, general upkeep of facilities, and oversight of special projects related to upgrades or improvements.

  • Customer Service & Guest Experience: Work with the guest services team to address customer feedback and resolve issues that arise during events. Ensure the stadium provides an exceptional experience for all visitors.

  • Vendor & Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and contractors. Negotiate contracts, monitor service quality, and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.

  • Communication & Reporting: Serve as a liaison between the Director, stadium staff, vendors, event organizers, and other stakeholders. Prepare reports on operational efficiency, staffing, event success, and maintenance issues.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures, ensuring readiness for various scenarios, including medical emergencies, evacuations, and weather-related disruptions.

  • Marketing & Promotion Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote stadium events and amenities. Assist in social media efforts, local promotions, and customer engagement initiatives to increase stadium attendance and brand awareness.
