To support the day to day administrative, logistical, and operational functions of the football program. This role works closely with the Director of Football Operations, coaching staff, and athletics administration for a smooth execution of team activities, events, and ensure compliance with University, Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations.
General supervision from assigned supervisor.
Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in sports administration, sports management, or other related field.
Master’s degree from an accredited university in sports administration, sports management, or other related field.
As condition of employment this position requires the applicant to be authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for Official University Business. Per University of Texas System Policy 157, applicants will be subject to a motor vehicle record check for their most recent thirty-six (36) month history. Out of State Drivers are required to submit a 36-month history MVR from their prior State of residence(s).
Two (2) years of related experience in collegiate level/or professional level athletic operations, coaching or administrative experience.
Experience in a Division I football program.
Use of standard office equipment.
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Some travel and weekend work may be required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Position requires high ethical standards and incumbent must exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, university and departmental rules and regulations as well as a solid commitment to academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, and any applicable NCAA standards. Understand that violation(s) of NCAA rules could result in sanctions being placed against the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University. Possess excellent organizational skills, be self-driven and have great attention to detail. Must be able to perform under deadlines and handle a wide variety of projects simultaneously. Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public.
