The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution’s overall program of education. This position will represent the athletics director in various capacities. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Player Personnel with the day-to-day recruiting operations in the Football program:

• Maintaining a database of high school prospects and the college transfer portal
• Evaluating high school prospects and the college transfer portal
• Preparing film on prospective student-athletes to highlight abilities/skills that coaches will then use to make an evaluation
• Communication efforts with prospective student-athletes, families, and high school coaches
• Organizing official and unofficial prospect visitations
• Organizing walk-on players and roster management
• Maintaining all paperwork for all aspects of visits, i.e. lodging, meals, tours, etc.
• Coordinating and organizing high school camps and clinics
• Entertaining high school coaches and prospects at practice and games
• Hiring and organizing student support staff
• Additional duties may be assigned by the Head Football Coach and the Associate AD for Football Operations
