Job Description

Washington Athletics aims to inspire champions in competition and in the classroom. We exist to enrich the lives of students to positively impact our community and world for generations to come. Operating with the four core values of growth mindset, committed service, humility and grit, the Huskies choose to lead by example. All Husky Athletics staff make an IMPACT by committing to creating a purpose driven culture that impacts students and our greater community. We engage in GROWTH though dynamic conversations, embracing creativity, and recognizing that every challenge represents an opportunity to learn. We are a COMMUNITY who strive to create experiences for our stakeholders every single day. At our core is the belief that INCLUSION means creating spaces and places that reflect equity, advocacy and belonging for all.

With over 650 student-athletes participating in UW's 22 sports programs, the department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to providing student-athletes with the ability to compete for national and conference championships while working toward a degree from one of the world's leading public research universities.

Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of Video Production to join their team.

Under the direction of the Director of Video Production, the Assistant Director of Video Production will work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance, support, and elevate brand strategy through multi-purpose video content that appeals to wide-ranging audiences across each of UW Athletics’ communication channels.

This role and its focus include the production of creative video elements for the purpose of marketing, fan engagement, team integration, sponsored content, and any promotional materials used during, and in support of, sporting event presentations – it also supports and facilitates production of original content designed for Washington’s digital (GoHuskies.com) and social media platforms.

Fan engagement elements include crowd rousers, sponsored content, and other in-venue video elements as needed.  Production of team integration pieces include player and coach features, team introductions, and other video coverage elements as needed – including see-to-completion of “opening” videos for assigned sport programs.

The Assistant Director of Video Production will foster relationships with team and staff representatives in order to develop a creative video framework, which includes brand-building strategy, storyboard concepts, footage-capture moments, and the production/editing of the video elements listed above. This position will work in tandem with the Director of Video Production and partner in the management and scheduling of the video production team, including shooters and editors within the allocated budget allowed for part-time staff, as well as manage video equipment needs, budget, and prioritization.

Produce high level video content for Washington Athletics that includes shooting and editing dynamic pieces for all sport platforms — website, social channels, in-venue interactive signage, etc. Responsible for content creation plans and execution for assigned sports and projects. Shoot, edit and produce video content for social media, live production, pre and post-game content, and other live videoboard/television productions. Mentor and collaborate with student interns on all aspects of video production.
