JOB DESCRIPTION

Newberry College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach. This is a full-time position (12 months) that reports directly to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Newberry is a NCAA Division II institution and a member of the South Atlantic Conference.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Teaching sport related techniques and skills throughout the season for individual performance development.
• Coordinating and implementing an academic success program.
• Coordinating a soccer recruiting strategy.
• Administrative work related to team travel, on and off campus recruiting, team countable activities, equipment and expenditures.
• Helping develop and market the program through social media outlets and other pipelines and upholding all South Atlantic Conference and NCAA rules in a framework of good ethical conduct.
• Representing Newberry College and the men’s Soccer Program in a professional manner.
• Any other duties assigned by the Head Men’s Soccer Coach or the Athletic Director.

EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Bachelor’s degree required; Three to five years collegiate coaching experience including effective leadership, communication, coaching and recruiting skills is preferred.
