Carolinas, and College policies.

Description

the role of the Assistant Soccer Coach is to assist and support the Head Coach, develop student athletes,
promote good sportsmanship and growth. The coach is expected to follow all NCAA, Conference
Carolinas, and College policies.
Responsibilities
•
(This list has examples of duties that may/may not be assigned to various assistant coaches. It is
not exhaustive, as other items may be added, and some subtracted. This will be at the discretion
of the Head Coach)
Scouting Reports – Compile scouting reports for every opponent.
• Team preparation – Assist in the preparation necessary to compete well
• Training – Assist the head coach with the planning and execution of all practices.
•
• Recruiting - Assist in all aspects of planning and directing the recruitment of student-athletes of
high moral character who demonstrate the desire to excel in academics and athletics. Including,
but not limited to, traveling to attend practices, games, or tournaments to evaluate student
athletes.
• Administration - Responsible for a wide variety of administrative tasks including but not limited
to CARA Forms, recruiting logs, calendars, rosters, and other various reports.
• Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and day to day activities.
• Communicate effectively with head coach, students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni.
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner and display good sportsmanship at all times.
• Commitment to Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics
including all NCAA, Conference Carolina guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Commitment to Erskine’s vision, mission, and statement of faith
• Willingness to offer spiritual support to students and staff
• Exercise exemplary Christian commitment and character at all times
• Assist in operating program within designated budget
• Assist in overseeing team academic performance
• Require players to exhibit exemplary character both on and off the field
• Assist the Head Coach as he or she conducts on-campus summer camps and/or “Quality Events”
to attract students to campus
• Display a positive, professional approach and support for the College and its athletic programs
• Requisite coaching experience to be able to teach, lead, coach, and serve at the collegiate level
to be determined by the Head Coach through the interview process.
Successful background in coaching, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Adhere to Conference Carolina, Erskine College and NCAA rules and regulations.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Successfully pass NCAA recruiting modules immediately upon hire.
First Aid, AED, and CPR certification ASAP upon hire.
Functional computer skills.
