UMBC is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Trainer at either the Assistant or Associate level. The Athletic Trainer is a health care professional responsible for working under the direction of the University’s Team physicians, as prescribed by state licensure statues, for supervising the prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and medical care of illnesses to UMBC’s student-athletes. In coordination with the University’s Team physicians, ensure that all participants on intercollegiate teams have the proper physical examinations before, during (as needed) practice and competition to maximize the effectiveness of the student-athlete while ensuring their physical wellbeing and minimizing liability to the department and the University. The Athletic Trainer will, as directed by the Director of Sports Medicine or Assignee, act as a primary administrator and supervisor of the sports medicine staff and facilities in the absence the Director of Sports Medicine, as assigned.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $52,000 and has over 4 weeks of vacation for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.

Both Levels Require:
One to two years of Athletic Training experience at Collegiate D1 level is preferred. This may include experience as Graduate Assistant or Graduate Intern collegiate position.

Assistant Athletic Trainer – $52,000 to $56,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Associate Athletic Trainer – $56,000 to $62,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
