Job Duties

- Assist head coach in running the day-to-day administrative activities of the program;
- Serve as the primary pitching coach;
- Assist in budget management;
- Serve as recruiting coordinator for four (4) year high school student-athletes to include in-person off campus evaluations, phone calls, zooms, facetime and emailing, plus on campus evaluations and visits for all high level student-athlete prospects;
- Assist in scheduling all recruiting trips and coordinating game schedules for all four (4) year Prospective student-athletes;
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating on campus visits for all four (4) year student-athletes;
- Assist with all uploading of transcripts evaluations in ARMs and review all returned evaluations from Registrar’s Office;
- Maintain equipment and apparel inventory;
- Assist in game scheduling;
- Coordinate team travel and recruitment trips for staff;
- Prepare game management reports and practice planning;
- Assist in fundraising;
- Participate in community service events to the great San Antonio areas;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Must exhibit good judgment in advising and counseling student-athletes, adjusting to the ever-changing culture.
- Ability to identify and participate in the resolution of departmental/institutional problems with continuous quality improvement as a goal.
- Ability to hold live batting practice.
- Ability to effectively enhance team effectiveness through dependability and positive influences.
- Ability to review and evaluate film, live practice, scrimmages and games of prospective student athletes to enhance the talent level of student-athletes being brought to the university.
- Ability to consistently follow the mission of the university.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the university, Southland Conference, and the NCAA.

Bachelors Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
Two (2) years of collegiate softball coaching or playing experience (Division 1 level).

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with synergy and ARMs systems.
- Experience with Tru Media or other scouting platforms.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on team schedule.

| Physical Demands |
- Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
- Ability to effectively move about to appropriately demonstrate plays and drills in this sport, as well as sideline coach during games.
