GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Assistant to the Director of Athletics in the Department of Athletics is to provide administrative support for the Director Athletics, help meet the needs of the coaching staff, and play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Assistant to the Director of Athletics should be a person devoted to Christ, possessing skills commensurate with the job. The employee should have experience with developed skills in typing, the use of Office 365, office organization, filing procedures, willingness to learn AI tools, and good people relations. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide administrative support to the Director of Athletics in the leadership and oversight of 23 athletics programs, 450+ student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Maintain the filing system for Director of Athletics and initiate files and records as needed. Assist the Director of Athletics with donor relations, stewardship, and help maintain accurate records of all athletics donations and development. Help initiate and provide communication to the Department of Athletics on behalf of the Director of Athletics. Schedule and confirm internal and external meetings. Supervise Director of Athletics student worker, graduate assistant, and Director of Athletics office. Assist and maintain the Director of Athletics calendar. Place outgoing calls if needed, and screen internal calls when appropriate. Administer all responsibilities in accordance with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations. Initiate and submit all receipts for the Director of Athletics credit card and personal reimbursements. Draft memos and letters dictated by the Director of Athletics. Work alongside other administrative assistants at DBU to facilitate work and collaboration across departments. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. WORK SCHEDULE:
The Athletics Staff Assistant will work 40 hours per week with some variations to the normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with an occasional need to work evenings and Saturdays.
