Associate Athletic Director – Internal Operations and Compliance, USC Aiken
The University of South Carolina Aiken, an NCAA Division II Institution, is seeking an Associate Athletics Director – Internal Operations & Compliance. The Associate AD will serve as member of Division of Athletics Leadership Team, reporting to Director of Athletics. Functions as the chief NCAA compliance officer. Responsibilities include oversight of the following: Interpreting and monitoring compliance. Liaison between the Athletic Department and the Admissions, Financial Aid, and Records Offices. Supervises the Assistant Athletic Director of Business Services and Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management. Has direct oversight of operations, facilities game/event management and business services. Manages all student athlete advising communication. Functions as the sport administrator for a sport that will be assigned by the Director of Athletics. The Associate Athletic Director may serve as SWA if qualified.
The successful candidate will conduct the athletics programs in compliance with USC Aiken, Peach Belt Conference, NCAA, federal, and state regulations. Specific job duties include but are not limited to: (1) Works with Admissions and Records Offices to determine and monitor initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility for approximately 220 student athletes in 10 sports; (2) Monitors compliance with NCAA and Peach Belt rules and regulations concerning amateurism, playing and practice seasons, recruiting and related issues; (3) Oversight of the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management and Assistant Athletic Director of Business Services on the daily operations within the Division of Athletics; (4) Develop and administer policies and procedures related to all athletic operations. Complete conference and NCAA reports; (5) Serve as an administrator for a sport to be determined by the Director of Athletics; and (6) Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed: Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Demonstrated administrative skills in a university athletic setting. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Professional and personal integrity.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Preferred requirements: Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience, with at least 3 years of supervisory experience. Experience working in NCAA DII compliance office and experience interacting with conference office.
This is a 12.0 month full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
