Alabama State University, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, invites applications for the position of Associate Athletic Director for Sports Performance. This position will have the responsibility of leading, designing, and implementing a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for the football program by collaborating with coaches, sports medicine, athletic training, and other departments to enhance player performance, ensure athlete safety, and to promote overall physical and mental development for student athletes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement strength, speed, agility, flexibility, conditioning, and recover programs specifically tailored to football student-athletes
• Develop and monitor yearly training cycles ( pre-season, in-season, post-season and off- season)
• Utilize performance monitoring tools (e.g., GPS tracking, PERCH) to assess progress and adjust programming
• Maintain detailed records of training programs, performance data, attendance, and athlete development
• Assist in managing the football wight room facility, equipment, and budget
• Support NCAA compliance i all activities related to student-athlete well-being and program operations
• Assist with supervision and mentorship of graduate assistants, interns, and work-study students assigned to sports performance
• Communicate regularly with coaching staff on athlete progress and program development
• Attend football practices, staff meetings, and competitions as required
• Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field from an accredited college/university, a minimum of 2 years of collegiate or professional strength and conditioning experience, preferably in football. Must be certified through through one or more of the following: CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist - NSCA), SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified - CSCCa), must have current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid, demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, have excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with a strong commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes. Must be able to work evenings weekends, and travel as required. Master's degree preferred.
