Job Description
The Associate Athletic Director for Strategic NIL Initiatives will work closely with key stakeholders in the Tarleton State University Department of Athletics, external constituents, and third-party partners to advance Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) strategic opportunities. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all NIL-related matters and liaise between all relevant stakeholders. The role ensures compliance with federal and state laws, university policies, conference regulations, and NCAA guidelines. The Associate Athletic Director for Strategic NIL Initiatives will drive the development and execution of NIL related strategies and operations at Tarleton State University.
Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or as work requirements indicate; This position may require work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays; This is an on-site position located in Stephenville, Texas.
Must be able to work remotely as requested by the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.
Responsibilities:
Lead the NIL Strategic Initiatives, conceptualizing and advancing opportunities for TSU student-athletes.
Serve as the primary contact for all NIL-related matters for university stakeholders, including coaches and athletics department leadership.
Collaborate with TSU Athletics leaders to oversee the implementation and review of university NIL procedures and best practices.
Manage NIL inquiries and requests from university and external stakeholders.
Assist the student-athlete development unit with NIL education for all stakeholders.
Develop and implement NIL communication strategies in partnership with TSU Athletics communications.
Coordinate regular meetings with university and campus stakeholders, including senior administrators, compliance, student-athlete development, academic services, development, and external relations.
Support athletics compliance in tracking and monitoring NIL activities according to State of Texas and NCAA guidelines.
Stay updated on NIL trends and best practices, adapting to evolving changes in NCAA rules and regulations.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality within the organization and external entities.
Perform other duties as directed by the Athletic Director or Deputy Athletics Director or Designee.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Eight years related experience
Preferred:
Master’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Six years’ experience in NCAA Division I Athletics Administration
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Expert knowledge of Division I Athletics rules and regulations and the NIL landscape
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.

The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
