Utah Valley University is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Coach for Softball to support the growth and success of its NCAA Division I women’s softball program. Summary of Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning, organizing and management of the university's intercollegiate women's softball program. Monitors team members' academic eligibility according to university and conference standards.
• Teaches players fundamentals and guides the development of each team members' skill level.
• Promotes booster organizations in support of effective public relations and financial support. Encourages school and team spirit and loyalty. Assists with public relations operations and activities.
• Assists in scouting other teams. Prepares scouting reports and helps develop game plans.
• Identifies and recruits athletically and academically qualified student athletes. Develops and maintains a recruiting database.
• Upholds and abides by all university, conference and collegiate regulations, policies and procedures.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties which must be coaching experience or any combination of education and/or experience totaling five years is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor degree and two years of experience related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and experience totaling six years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

• Knowledge of team organization, motivation and strategic skills.
  
• Knowledge of intercollegiate athletic rules and regulations and all university, conference, and collegiate regulations, policies, and procedures.

Skills - Skill with public relations, public speaking and team building.
- Skill in preparing, monitoring, and record keeping team budgets.
- Skill with planning and organizing travel schedules.
- Skill with recruiting, coaching and scouting student-athletes at the intercollegiate Division I level.

Abilities - Ability to assist in design and strategies of game plans and coordinate game and practice schedules.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to many audiences.
- Ability to instruct, manages, motivate and evaluate student course work and classroom performance for academic athletic success.
