About This Role:

The Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach assists the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in running certain aspects of the women’s basketball program at Lamar University. The position requires a commitment to compliance and academics leading to the graduation of student-athletes. The position requires active involvement in the community for fundraising purposes.

What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities

• Assists the Head Women’s Basketball Coach with on-court coaching during practice and competition.
• Assist in a successful recruiting program and will attempt to recruit the best students as well as athletes.
• Assists the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in a variety of administrative duties with other coaching duties assigned by the Head Coach.
• Actively participates in fundraising and development of the program and make himself/herself available to the news media on appropriate occasions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

• Ability to recognize and promote the best interest of the student-athletes both academically and athletically – encouraging each to graduate.
• Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System, and Lamar University rules and regulations required. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.

Physical Requirements:

• This position required sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds while performing the essential functions as described within the essential job functions.
