The Assistant Football Coach will assist the Head Football Coach in directing all activities of the football program within NCAA, RMAC and Colorado School of Mines policies, guidelines, and procedures. The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for supporting the athletic and academic development of student-athletes while focusing on student-athlete welfare.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as Assistant Football Coach which includes coaching and decision making for the offense- may have specific responsibilities for one or more position groups.
  • Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes and maintain a culture of personal accountability in student-athlete academic and athletic performance and conduct.
  • Monitor academic performance and overall well-being of student-athletes.
  • Under the supervision of the Head Football Coach, assist in the planning and direction of all practices and game activities.
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, design and implementation of effective off-season programs, scouting reports and recruiting systems.
  • Must be willing to participate in community engagement and donor relations in conjunction with the Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach.
  • Under the direction of the Head Football Coach, plan and execute youth and prospect summer camps.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Travel, both in-state, and out of state, for contests and recruiting is required.
  • Effective and timely preparation and management of administrative functions related to the football program is required.
  • Successfully complete all required NCAA coaches’ curriculum and trainings.
