Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform injury and illness prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation. Provide First Aid and Emergency Care coverage during practices, games, training sessions, and travel. Design and Perform Rehabilitation Exercise Programs for injured athletes. Apply Preventative Taping and/or Bracing to prevent or protect against athletic injuries. Administer Therapeutic Modality treatments on injured athletes. (40%)
Communicate with Physicians and Coaches regarding the physical progress of athletes. Coordinate physician care for injured or ill athletes. (10%)

Coordinate Pre-participation Physical Exams for all athletes. (10%)
Evaluate and coordinate the nutritional needs of athletes. (5%)
Coordinate education of health issues for coaches and athletes. (5%)
Assist in the hiring and supervision of department Graduate Assistants and Interns. (5%)
Maintain Inventory, and Order Sports Medicine supplies and equipment. Maintain Emergency Medical and Rehabilitation Equipment. (5%)
Must maintain NATA-BOC certification, State of Tennessee Licensure, and CPR/AED certification. Stays current in the athletic training field through continuing education classes and industry-specific publications. (5%)
Other duties as assigned. (5%)
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant degree field and two (2) years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer; OR a Master’s degree in a relevant degree field.
Candidates must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified, NATABOC certified, and be licensed in the state of Tennessee (or have the ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire).
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
