Athletics Assistant Camp Coach – Baseball

Job Summary

The Assistant Camp Coach - Baseball supports the planning and execution of youth summer and prospect camps hosted by the Athletics department. This role assists head coaches in delivering instruction, supervising participants, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with daily camp operations and drills.
• Provide instruction and feedback to camp participants.
• Supervise campers during activities, meals, and transitions.
• Support setup and breakdown of equipment and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional policies.

Experience and Qualifications

Education: No minimum education requirement. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Experience: Previous coaching experience or demonstrated high-level playing experience in Baseball required. Experience working with high school or college-aged students is preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the assigned sport.
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and motivate student-athletes.
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, respectful, and safe team environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with student leaders and College personnel.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during camp sessions.

Licenses & Certifications:

CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Successful completion of all required state-mandated training and Live Scan fingerprinting is required prior to beginning assigned duties. Saint Mary’s College will provide instructions for completing required training and clearance processes upon hire.
