The University of Utah, a member of the Big 12 Conference, is seeking applications for a Director of Athletics Compliance to maintain the day-to-day oversight of the University’s Division I NCAA compliance program.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, the following:
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
Bachelor’s degree. Three (3) years combined athletics compliance experience at a Non-Autonomy Five institution, conference, or at the NCAA National Office, or two (2) years of experience at an Autonomy Five institution or conference. Advanced legal degree can substitute for one year of experience. Progressive experience in an NCAA Division I compliance role; demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure; demonstrated commitment to institutional control. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in commonly-used technological processes such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, NCAA LSDBi, and NCAA CA.
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Juris Doctor or Master’s degree. Successful completion of the NAAC Education Certification program; experience in compliance and student-athlete educational programming at either a Autonomy Five institution, or Autonomy Five conference office; supervisory experience; proven experience in working with high-profile intercollegiate sports programs.
