Salary Range
$65,000.00 depending on qualifications
Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement, the Athletics Development Coordinator is responsible for the identification, development, coordination, and implementation of donor relationships. The Development Coordinator will build relationships to support advancement initiatives and campaign activity. Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively across organizational lines. Remains in frequent communication with colleagues (other development coordinators and stakeholders) to ensure the highest level of support and maintains prospect data quality and confidential information. The selected candidate must be able to travel, work occasional evenings and weekends.

Establish and cultivate relationships essential for prospective donors.
Communicate major and annual athletic fund campaign efforts within the community.
Identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing fundraising activities.
Sell and activate athletic corporate sponsorships.
Coordinate the development, writing and submission of proposals.
Manage a portfolio of prospects.
Host donors at athletic events i.e. tailgating, suites, sidelines at home and selected away games.
Help compose feature stories on athletic alumni in the corporate sector and work with UTPB Alumni Director to coordinate athletic alumni gatherings.
Develop and promote events/activities for athletic support growth and revenue generation.
Independent decision-making, ability to exercise good judgment, accuracy, flexibility and well-developed critical thinking skills.
Ability to work in an environment of shifting priorities, frequent interruptions, fast pace, high level of interaction with students, staff and/or the public.
Working knowledge of computer software programs which may include Word, Excel, institutional mainframe computer system software, or similar programs.
Ability to handle highly confidential matters and materials with discretion.
Ability to work independently as well as be a collaborative team player in completing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
Represents UTPB in a positive manner with prospective, current, and former students, employees, and the community.
Demonstrates enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude in meeting and dealing effectively and courteously with students, other personnel, and all members of the community.
Interprets university and/or college priorities. Works harmoniously with others.
Performs in a manner that benefits student learning.
Must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
