Broadcasting Coordinator

Job Duties

| Description of Job Duties |
- Conceptualize, develop, and execute full-scale video productions for game streams, telecasts and other live event broadcasts as well as on-demand content to be distributed on the department’s website, social media channels or shared with external media outlets for transmission.
- Serve as the executive producer for all live event broadcasts, leading the video team in the multi-camera production of athletic events, ensuring all standards outlined by broadcast partners, such as ESPN, are met.
- Collaborate closely with the conference office on all video requests, expectations and requirements, including successfully fulfilling streaming obligations.
- Develop or implement provided game formats and through pre-production planning, fully utilize the broadcast time to run commercials, implement sponsor elements, and air department storytelling pieces or features.
- Help lead in the ideation and development of in-venue video content that creates a premier game day experience.
- Provide oversight to graduate assistants, student workers, and game-day production staff.
- Manage the setup, in-game direction and maintenance of all video boards and broadcasting equipment at various facilities.
- Serve as a liaison and contact for outside production teams, assisting with their needs for home events that are selected for national and/or regional television distribution.
- Collaborate with marketing staff to make sure all promotional content needs are executed.

Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook; software system(s) to capture, edit, and produce video content.
- Operational knowledge of Tricaster, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
- Knowledge and/or proficiency in various roles (technical directing, directing, producing, graphics, replay operation, camera operation, audio, etc.) as well as operating all associated equipment and software.
- Familiarity with various video board operating systems and hardware (i.e. Daktronics). Knowledge of ESPN 3 and ESPN+ broadcast standards.
- Strong multitasking and project management skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, teammates and individuals requesting content.
- Working knowledge of the NCAA rules, guidelines, and principles.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Bachelor’s Degree.

One (1) year of work experience in one or more of the following areas: non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, sports video production, or a closely related area.

Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on filming schedule of sports events.

- Ability to lift up to 30lbs of video equipment; ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve equipment and effectively film.
- Ability to push/pull equipment carts holding up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time for filming purposes.
- Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage and film faculty, staff, and potential/current students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
