Job Summary
The Coordinator of Creative Content is a dynamic and versatile content creator for UT Tyler Athletics. This role is hands-on, focused on capturing, editing, and producing high-impact visual content that tells the story of student-athletes, sports teams, and sporting events.
The position requires frequent travel (regionally and nationally) and work during nights/weekends as needed.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks
Serve as the lead content creator for UT Tyler events, including regular season games, Media Day, and post-season games.
Film, photograph, and gather behind-the-scenes and game-day content for UT Tyler Athletics.
Assist in real-time posting or rapid-turnaround editing when needed during live events.
Travel, as needed, to events to ensure real-time or near-time content collection.
Maintain content capture equipment (cameras, audio gear, drones, lighting).
Produce short-form and long-form video content (hype videos, interviews, highlights, features).
Edit content for multiple platforms including social media, YouTube, digital broadcasts, and internal usage.
Work under the direction of the Director of Athletics to execute planned content series and campaigns for UT Tyler Athletics.
Collaborate with Sports Information team members to deliver timely, engaging visuals that support key calendar moments.
Participate in brainstorming sessions for creative storytelling ideas.
Ensure all content aligns with The University of Texas at Tyler and UT Tyler Athletics brand guidelines, tone, and visual identity.
Adapt content formats for various channels, understanding audience behaviors and platform trends (Instagram Reels, Facebook, X, etc.).
Organize and maintain a content library and raw footage archive.
Stay up to date on emerging technology and tools to elevate content quality and efficiency.

Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
One year of experience in content capture and editing, preferably in sports.
Proficiency with professional camera equipment (DSLR/mirrorless, audio, lighting setups).
Strong video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and/or Final Cut.
Experience with photography and an understanding of composition, lighting, and color grading.
Ability to manage tight deadlines, travel frequently, and work nights/weekends as needed.
A portfolio showcasing video and photo work in a sports environment.
May accept a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
Familiarity with college athletics.
Required Certifications / Licenses:
Valid Texas driver's license.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and external constituencies.
Advanced knowledge of current advertising strategy and techniques.
Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and programming languages including HTML highly desired.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulation.

The University of Texas at Tyler is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Lone Star Conference (LSC). UT Tyler is one of the newest members of the NCAA, having achieved full NCAA membership in the summer of 2007 after a four-year provisional period required of all new Division III members. In 2018, UT Tyler was accepted into NCAA Division II's three-year membership process, receiving provisional membership starting in 2019-20. In 2021, UT Tyler was accepted as full Division II members after successfully completing the three-year provisional period required of all new members.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
