Target hiring range for this position will be between $75,000-$110,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Head Football Coach and Director of Football Operations, the Director of Player Development is responsible for preparing Northwestern Football student-athletes for life after sport. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, professional development and life-skills curriculum, employer relations and internship coordination, and all former player relations and programming.

*Willingness and ability to travel as well as work evenings, weekends and holidays.*

Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Specific Responsibilities :

· Organize and coordinate employer relations, internships, and summer jobs for football student-athletes; coordinate football-specific professional development events in collaboration with NU for Life department.

· Foster and maintain all former player relationships, including planning events, (reunions and letter-winners), graduation reception, and developing programming to connect current and former student-athletes (Alumni Mentoring Program).

Specific Responsibilities :

· Oversee and support facilitation of NU Branch App as it relates to former player relations and professional development.

· Coordinate and support all aspects of Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) legislation for the football program in conjunction with Compliance and NU for Life.

· Oversee Honorary Captain program in-season.

· Assist with day-to-day operations including, but not limited to: team travel, pre-season campus, fundraising, post-season travel, recruiting, operations, gameday activities and summer camps.

· Models nondiscriminatory practices throughout all aspects of the football program.

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

· 5 years’ experience in college or professional football

· Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.

· Excellent written and verbal communication

· Previous experience managing a diverse team

· Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

· Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
