What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Function: The Director of Experiential Marketing will be responsible for bringing the Ball State brand to life through the intentional creation of unique and memorable experiences. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing plan for assigned sports, overseeing all student marketing initiatives, and collaborating to increase student engagement and attendance at athletic events. This position will lead event marketing and execution for the Ball State Men's Basketball program and other sports as assigned. This position will also assist in the management of student staff, coordinate the mascot program, provide input related to ticket sales promotion and related external communications, and perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Adheres to all NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Oversee the development and execution of marketing, promotions and advertising plans for assigned sports. Creates and implements in-game promotions, executes pre-game and during game promotions. Supports department with revenue generation, enhancements to fan experience and ticket sales support.
Collaborate to increase student engagement and attendance at athletic events. Organize and supervise on campus marketing initiatives and participate in new student orientation programing.
Serve as the game day producer for assigned sports. Assist with the development and implementation of the overall game entertainment strategy and overall fan experience. Management of game day timeline and script development. Work with Learfield and production staff to support in-game video board productions.
Manage the spirit squads, mascot program, and kids club.
Create content for use on social media, in emails, etc. to promote games and events. Create content and work directly with designers. Approve collateral for use in print, digital, and social media.
Supervise student employee positions and student interns in facilitating marketing projects.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in communications, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, sport administration or related field.
One year of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in communications, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, sport administration or related field.
Two years relevant experience in intercollegiate athletics, sports business industry or related agency work. Graphic Design experience.
