Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (“DAPER”) is the premier intercollegiate athletics program in the country. We are the proud Home of Champions! We lead the nation with 138 NCAA championship titles and a legacy of sustained excellence, including multiple Women’s Capital One Cup victories, and have brought home the Learfield Director’s Cup 26 times. We support nearly 900 student-athletes who compete on 36 intercollegiate athletics teams and also support the university’s physical education, recreation and wellness initiatives. Our dedicated staff embody a culture of excellence, embrace our mission of scholar-athleticism and exemplify a relentless championship spirit. Our actions and staff are guided by the core tenets of the Athletics Department culture, “The DAPER Way,” which are: Embrace Scholar-Athleticism, Pursue and Revere Excellence, Lead with Courage and Work Cohesively.

Are you ready to inspire champions? If yes, then this may be the right opportunity for you!

The Football Video Lead will manage the day-to-day video operations of Stanford Football, ensuring all practice, game, and opponent footage is captured, organized, tagged, and delivered to coaches and staff efficiently. This is the operational backbone of the video department — a hands-on role that keeps the film workflow running smoothly while supporting the Director of Football Operations on larger strategy, technology integration, and long-range projects. This onsite role is a fixed-term position with an end date of 2/28/2027.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily video capture for practices, games, and workouts, including setup, camera placement, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Manage the tagging, categorization, and upload of practice and game film into XOS/DVSport/Catapult or comparable systems.
  • Coordinate opponent film exchange and ensure staff have timely access to all required breakdowns.
  • Maintain the video schedule and ensure student workers, interns, and assistants are trained and deployed effectively for daily shoots.
  • Communicate with coaches, analysts, and QCs to understand their weekly video needs and ensure those needs are met with accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage equipment set-up and maintenance (cameras, endzone towers, drones if used, storage, and backup systems).
  • Assist the Director of Football Operations in implementing new workflows, video technologies, or software systems.
  • Serve as the day-to-day technical contact for staff experiencing system or access issues.
  • Support gameday film operations, including multi-angle uploads and rapid postgame distribution.
