This is a 10-month, 2-year position within the Athletic Department at Saint Leo University. This individual supports the planning and execution of athletic events, with a primary focus on ticketing, concessions, and merchandise operations, and assists with departmental special events.
This role provides hands-on experience in event management, revenue operations, and customer service within a collegiate athletics environment. The position offers the opportunity to develop professional skills in operations, leadership, and problem-solving while contributing to a fast-paced, event-driven department.
Duties and Tasks:
Assist in the planning and execution of ticketing, concessions, and merchandise operations for home athletic events
Support event setup and breakdown, including ticket tables, concessions areas, and merchandise displays, as well as the transport of equipment and supplies between locations
Monitor entry points, lines, and service areas to maintain efficient event flow
Assist with resolving real-time operational issues during events
Train, monitor, and supervise student workers to ensure adherence to departmental and university policies and procedures
Assist with training and supervising student workers and reinforce expectations related to attendance, professionalism, and customer service
Support ticket sales, concessions, and merchandise operations to enhance revenue generation

Assist with tracking sales trends, inventory levels, and per capita spending
Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency and customer experience
Assist with the planning and execution of departmental special events, including support with registration, check-in, setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination
Utilize and troubleshoot systems including HomeTown Ticketing (HTT), Square POS, EngageLeo, and SubItUp
Support accurate tracking of attendance, sales, and staffing data
Support scheduling processes and shift coverage coordination
Provide customer service to fans, guests, and participants and assist with resolving service-related concerns
Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure event environment
Other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university
Acceptance to or enrollment in a Saint Leo University graduate program
Become ServSafe certified within 30 days of employment

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
Highly organized and attention to details
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and utilize operational systems and technology
Abilities:
Must be eligible and able to become certified to operate university vehicles, including vans and golf carts, which requires a valid driver’s license
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on athletic and special event schedules
Maintain compliance with NCAA, SSC Conference, institutional, and departmental policies and procedures
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor venues during various weather conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
