Position Overview

This is a regular student labor position which serves as Graduate Assistant for the Athletic Administrative Team and oversees the ticketing operation of the Athletic Department. The position reports to the Deputy Director. Applicant should be a highly motivated self-starter, eager to learn, with strong engagement, organizational, and communication skills. This position requires clerical work, including but not limited to data entry, research, organization, and computer proficiency. This position may require moving equipment, working outside on grounds, and/or helping with preventative maintenance and may require heavy, physical and manual labor.

 

Hours per Week

• Up to 25 hours per week.
• 7 days a week between 6am-11:59pm.
• Working nights, weekends, and holidays is a possible function of this position.
• Remote work not available.

 

College/Department Overview

The Athletics Department at the University of Central Oklahoma currently supports over 400 student athletes in 15 NCAA Division II sports including Football, Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Golf, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Women's Track & Field (Indoor & Outdoor) and Cross Country, Women's Tennis, Women's Soccer, Women's Rowing and Women's Volleyball.

 

Department Specific Job Functions

• Develops timelines, plans and strategies for annual ticket sales efforts, including mailings, online, telemarketing and grass-root initiatives.
• Performs individual game and group ticket sales for football, men's and women's basketball, wrestling, soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball to the general public.
• Responsible for gameday ticketing operations for UCO-hosted events including NCAA and/or MIAA conference postseason ticketed events for all sports. This includes working knowledge of Home Town Ticketing digital platform.
• Provides excellent customer service experience to donors and patrons. This position may handle and resolve more complex customer service complaints regarding ticket sales, parking, event details, and priority seating and other issues.
• Assists in the determination and assignment of staffing and game coverage logistics to maximize efficiency.
• Assists with oversight of internal controls and procedures for the Ticket Office including auditing procedures and reports, allocation and distribution of tickets, ensuring segregation of duties, safeguarding of funds, posting of batches, ticket system access, voiding tickets and transfers.
• Assists with the design and production of advertising, brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials to promote ticket sales and group outings.
• Updates ticket accounts and coordinates ticket information on athletics website.
• Responsible for running daily and post event sales reports.
• Assists in gameday operations to include in-game management and facility setup and tear down.
• This position will require some evening and weekend hours as needed based upon the athletic events schedule.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and works as a cooperative/supportive team member in the UCO Athletic Department.

 

Enrollment Requirements

Fall/Spring Semesters : All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. F1/J1 Visa students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.

Summer Semester : To work in a regular student position during the summer semester, students must be enrolled in at least 3 summer credit hours or be enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in the minimum credit hours required for their classification and employment type. Students enrolled in fewer than 3 summer credit hours will be subject to FICA taxes during the summer term, which apply to both the student and the department. For Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) positions, students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (graduate).

Note : New incoming students are not eligible for student employment until the semester in which they begin classes.

Enrollment Exception : If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. Qualifications/Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree and admittance into a master’s program at UCO.
• A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong people skills.
• Strong organizational & communication skills.
