Head Beach Volleyball Coach

Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Athletics invites applications for the position of Head Beach Volleyball Coach. The successful candidate will assist the Athletic Director with all phases of a Division 1 intercollegiate beach volleyball program including instruction and training of student-athletes in on-court operations, physical and mental player development, motivation, mentorship, instilling disciplines and develop technical skills through qualify practice and excellent communication. The successful candidate is responsible for working with administrative staff regarding overseeing all recruiting efforts, scheduling of practice, training, competition, equipment, including uniforms, travel arrangements, budget management, meal accommodations, supervision and evaluation of assistant coaches, fundraising, speaking engagements, short and long term planning, and upholding the departmental university mission statements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Commitment to the academic and athletic progress and performance of the individual student-athletes and the team
Collaborate with the administrative staff regarding identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes
Develop team strategies and individual player development
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with coaching staff and other university personnel
Maintain a professional and positive image of Southeastern Athletics, specifically beach volleyball program.
Follow established departmental policies and procedures
Commitment to work with diversity
Manage Beach Volleyball facility and upkeep as needed and work with Deputy Athletic Director regarding proper scheduling
Maintain an active community presence through speaking engagements, fundraising, and community service
Actively participate in fundraising efforts
Monitor student athlete academic performance and emphasize academic achievement through collaboration with academic support staff
Ability to work nights/evenings, weekends and holidays
Other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. A minimum of five years of coaching experience with at least one of the five years at the collegiate level or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited university.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations in Division 1 Athletics
