Job Description

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

The men’s soccer coach of the Athletics Department is to provide instruction, motivation, and support of the men’s soccer team. Will administer NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Program including coaching, recruiting, training, scheduling, budget maintenance, and marketing/promotion of program.

• Possess skills commensurate with the job
• Familiarity with NCAA bylaws

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organize and lead the men’s soccer team.
• Provide discipleship to the team and all assistant coaches through weekly team discipleship meetings.
• Coordinate team discipleship leaders as they facilitate small group discipleship discussions.
• Administer the team in accordance with all applicable NCAA rules and guidelines.
• Recruit incoming freshman and transfer student-athletes who possess both athletic ability and a willingness to serve God through athletics endeavors.
• Observe and uphold all academic standards and requirements of the University; and encourage student-athletes to perform to their highest academic potential, obtain the highest grades possible, and graduate.
• Schedule games and/or tournaments with opposing teams in accordance with applicable conference and NCAA guidelines and maintain favorable relations with opposing teams and coaches.
• Manage operations budget in partnership with the Director of Athletics.
• Manage scholarship budget in partnership with the Director of Athletics.
• Promote games and/or tournaments on campus to increase attendance.
• Track and monitor attendance to measure attendance trends.
• Work with student affairs and SGA to creatively market athletic events.
• Tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

WORK SCHEDULE:

As minimum of {20 or 40} hours per week or more to meet the requirements of the program. In-season weeks typically demand more time commitment.

WORK LOCATION:

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211

Requirements

• Must be a Christian and a member of a church that holds to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in the New and Old Testaments of the Holy Bible.

• A bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Experience in advanced-level college coaching or advanced-level private instruction
