  Position Summary: The Women’s Basketball Head Coach is responsible for leading a program that has enjoyed a rich tradition in the RMAC and NCAA Division II.  The coach will direct all phases of the Women’s Basketball program by establishing and maintaining a high standard of excellence, which includes recruiting academically qualified student-athletes, scheduling, scouting, conditioning, supervising the assistant coaching staff, managing the program budget, generating revenue, and other duties assigned.  In addition, the Head Coach is responsible for ensuring that all duties are executed in compliance with NCAA, RMAC and institutional regulations.  Metropolitan State University of Denver is an equal opportunity employer. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball program. 

  • Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition. 

  • Work with the Director of Athletics on the selection and scheduling of team contests. 

  • Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes. 

  • Facilitate a team environment that fosters the holistic growth and development of the student-athlete. 

  • Develop and conduct pre-season, in-season and off-season training and conditioning programs for the team. 

  • Plan and direct athletic skill development for student-athletes.
