Job Summary

ETSU

is accepting applications for the Women’s Track and Field Head Coach. The Head Coach is responsible to the Director of Track and Field and Cross Country for the recruitment, retention, and training of the sports program; maintaining compliance with

ETSU

, SoCon, and

NCAA

rules and regulations; organizing and coordinating administrative tasks as assigned including but not limited to team travel, meet schedules, budget assistance, office duties, and academics; assisting with the men’s outdoor track program as assigned by the Director; maintaining office hours; working closely with the strength and conditioning, sports medicine, and academic support; attending all practices, meetings, and contests; establishing a good rapport among students, staff, campus constituents, and the community; assisting with the planning and of events and programs specific to the women’s team, and assisting with the men’s program as assigned; assisting in the management of the administration of all aspects related to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of basic principles of coaching/team supervision.

Knowledge of basic budget preparation and maintenance.

Ability to effectively supervise program staff.

Ability to effectively develop and coordinate recruiting activities.

Ability to effectively schedule sporting events.

Ability to effectively teach classes as assigned.

Ability to maintain team discipline and instill proper ethical and moral standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Appropriate experience at the intercollegiate, junior college, high school level or club level

Must have knowledge of

NCAA

rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred
