Job Description

The two (2) Hybrid Athletic Trainer/Strength & Conditioning positions at Fort Hays State University are within the Department of Athletics and its 19 NCAA Division II athletic teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• CAATE Accredited degree in Athletic Training required;BOC certification
• CSCS or equivalent certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
• Eligible for Kansas Athletic Trainer Licensure [Kansas AT License must be obtained prior to the jobs start date].

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Health & Human Performance or equivalent field
• Two (2) years of experience as a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in the Collegiate setting
• One (1) year of CSCS or equivalent certification experience
• Certificate in Sports Nutrition

Appointment Date: Start date based on applicant availability around July 2024.

Job Duties:

• Provide Sports Medicine care for our student athletes as an Athletic Trainer,including autonomous medical coverage of a sport with possible travel.
• Assist in providing strength and conditioning programing, oversight, and implementation as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) for one of our weight rooms.
• Supervising pre-athletic training student managers and potentially clinically supervising pre-strength and conditioning students.
• Various administrative duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, and the Head Athletic Trainer.

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience.
