Dakota Wesleyan University, a NAIA institution, is seeking a Graduate Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. This person will be responsible for assisting the head coach in areas of recruitment, planning and participating in practices, game management and program administration. Stipend and tuition remission toward a Master of Arts degree in Education is included.

Successful candidates should display integrity, have a passion for player development and a demonstrated commitment to the DWU mission and values of learning, leadership, faith, and service. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a strong background in the sport of basketball.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach with all aspects of the men’s basketball program
• Coordinate and assist with practice planning, game-day operations, and team events
• Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress
• Aid in recruiting efforts, including communication with prospective student-athletes, scheduling campus visits, and maintaining recruiting databases
• Assist with community service initiatives and fundraising efforts
• Manage sport-specific responsibilities such as equipment, inventory, and storage, and/or coordinate video operations

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Serve as a mentor and resource for student-athletes, providing guidance on academic, athletic, and personal development
• Oversee student-athlete activities during practices, competitions, and events, ensuring adherence to team policies and procedures
• Assist in supervising undergraduate student workers, interns, and team managers as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong background in the sport of basketball
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, player development, and teamwork
• Alignment with Dakota Wesleyan University’s mission and values of learning, leadership, faith, and service
