Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the athletics compliance program, ensuring alignment with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations governing recruiting, amateurism, awards, benefits, playing, practice seasons, and other applicable areas of legislation through monitoring educational efforts among other strategies. Regularly attend athletics-related events as directed. Act as the institutional liaison and manage aspects of a departmental compliance program for campus partners.
Obtain and maintain records to ensure that all student-athletes (including transfer students) are eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics programs by working with institutional personnel in addition to the NCAA Eligibility Center in processing the eligibility requirements of freshmen student-athletes, and certifying the continuing eligibility of current student-athletes. Lead the institution's APR data reporting.
Provide leadership and direction for compliance staff and interns, including workflow oversight, training, and professional development to ensure the effectiveness of the compliance unit. Collaborates with leaders throughout the division to ensure consistency and develops appropriate trainings where necessary.
Ensure that the University’s athletics programs are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations governing financial aid for student-athletes by working cooperatively with the Office of Student Financial Aid in monitoring all financial aid awarded to student-athletes, including initial athletically-related aid and renewable athletically-related aid, as well as income from additional sources of countable aid.
Monitor NCAA legislative development and provide relevant compliance interpretations and guidance as well as bylaw updates as needed regarding NCAA and American Athletic Conference (AAC) rules to coaches, staff, and constituents.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of NCAA Division I collegiate experience including supervisory experience of full-time employees.
