Sports Information Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sports Information Director is a full-time, 12-month position, responsible for leading communications and enhancing the visibility of Westminster University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, while also providing support for game day operations. Westminster University is a proud member of NCAA Division II and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, sponsoring 15 NCAA varsity teams in addition to several non-NCAA sport programs.
Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director - Operations and working in close collaboration with the Office of Marketing & Communications, this position is critical in elevating the University’s athletic brand on campus, in the community, and throughout the region. This role also supervises the management of the department’s digital presence, and social media platforms. Responsibilities include writing and distributing pre and post-game press releases, managing game-day programs and promotional materials, and overseeing live broadcasts for home athletic events - from technical setup to staffing and production.
This position oversees statistical operations for home events, maintains cumulative game stats, rosters, and records for all sports programs, and handles required reporting for the RMAC and NCAA. Responsibilities also include archiving statistics, managing award nominations and game results, and coordinating interviews with student-athletes and coaches.
The Sports Information Director requires a high level of organization, creativity, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines. It also involves a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Requirements - Schedule outside normal business hours. This position requires an irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends and possible travel.
