The Graduate Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Communication. Duties include:
Create game programs and promotional items for the University’s Athletics Program.
Coordinate and deploy social media and webpage as effective marketing strategies for the Athletics Program.
Assist in all aspects of the Sports Information department, including writing press releases, feature stories, photos, videos (shooting, editing, and production).
Assist with responsibilities related to game day, including maintaining statistics.
*Includes tuition waiver for up to 18 graduate degree hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree is required.
Acceptance into a post-bachelors academic program at Shepherd University, as well as full-time course registration (9 credit hours) into the same program of study is also required.
Must pass satisfactory background check.
Must be enrolled/registered for Fall 2026.
Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior athletic officiating, score keeping or announcing experience desired.
CPR, First Aid, AED Certified.
