This role will serve as the primary resource for performance nutrition strategies for assigned athletic teams. As a member of the Sports Performance team, they will work closely with athletic training, strength and conditioning, coaches and other student support staff to provide comprehensive care that supports student athlete success and wellness.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Manage all aspects of performance nutrition for assigned teams.
Provide nutritional assessments, consultations, and personalized meal plans to athletes and sports teams.
Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and medical staff to develop and implement effective nutrition programs.
Conduct research on sports nutrition and staying up to date with the latest industry trends and scientific advancements.
Conduct presentations and educational sessions on sports nutrition topics
Monitor and evaluate athletes' progress, making necessary adjustments to their nutrition plans.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of athletes' nutritional assessments and progress.
Conduct nutrition, hydration, and body composition assessments; interpretation and communication of results.
Create individualized hydration protocols and daily supplement regimens
Serve as a resource in helping to coordinate nutrition for team travel (i.e. menu selection, catering options, meal timing)
In conjunction with other wellness team members, educate and help manage/treat student-athletes with food allergies or medical conditions relating to nutrition.
Manage composition of dietary supplements for assigned teams.
Address a wide range of health issues including eating disorders, weight management, gastrointestinal complications, and diabetes.

Maintain adherence to NCAA and WCC policies related to nutrition and supplementation
Manage and oversee inventory, budgeting, ordering, and daily operations for fueling stations (as needed)
Team travel as necessary
Perform other related duties.
NCAA, Conference, and University Rules Compliance
Conduct all aspects of program in accordance with the rules and policies established by Loyola Marymount University, the Athletics Department, all Sports Conference Affiliations, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Complete all rules compliance information as required.
Participate in an annual evaluation of adherence to rules compliance (LMU, Athletic Department, Sports Conference Affiliations, NCAA) with immediate supervisor.
Conduct evaluation of adherence to rules compliance (LMU, Athletic Department, Sports Conference Affiliations, NCAA) with all assigned personnel on an annual basis.

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition or related field. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Two years of experience as a Registered Dietitian
Registered Dietitian Credential (RD/RDN)
Ability to work nonstandard work week which includes nights, weekends and holidays -
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Salary range
$66,600.00 - $86,600.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
