Position Summary:

The Student Video Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Football Video staff with filming and editing games, practices, and other related events or tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

1. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the football video office, including videoing and editing all football games and practices; tablet operation and distribution on gameday.

1. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Football Video.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment and outside at KAI related events, including inclement weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and various digital devices, including, but not limited to: cell phone, printer, copy machine, and other related devices. This job requires flexibility and adaptability in schedule and the ability to perform job related duties on short notice.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This position may require frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; and working in all weather conditions.

Travel

Travel may be expected for this position for away games.

Hours of Work

This is a part-time position, temporary position. The expected work schedule will be 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday – Friday during the academic year. Days and hours of work may vary based on the needs of the sports programs and as job duties demand. Early morning, evening and weekend work is sometimes required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• In pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at the University of Kansas, and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress;
• Ability and willingness to help with the growth and success of the Kansas Football program;
• Enthusiasm and understanding of the Football sport;
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.);
• Ability and willingness to accept and receive constructive feedback and instruction;
• Must work all home football practices and games, with the ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 
• Must be available to work a schedule of 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday – Friday during the academic year;
• Must be willing and able to travel with the team as needed.
• Willingness to attend additional paid trainings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency using video equipment.
• Availability during the winter and summer months as needed.
