Job Description
Provides technical support for programs and organizational activities to convey information, determine compliance, and resolve difficult situations; uses expertise in the implementation and maintenance of technical program guidelines; perform related work.
The Assistant Athletics Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting with the development, administration, and implementation of policies and procedures that support compliance with NCAA, Big Sky Conference, and University rules and regulations. This position reports directly to the University General Counsel and is part of the university’s compliance team. The individual in this role is expected to provide proactive, customer service–oriented support; take initiative and demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset; and effectively manage multiple projects at once. They should take ownership of their work, uphold high ethical standards, and show a strong commitment to the university’s mission. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. This position is based in-person on the Pocatello campus. Flexible work arrangements may be considered only in limited circumstances and must align with office needs and receive prior approval from the General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities
-Assist with monitoring, tracking, and documenting compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
-Research and respond to routine compliance inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
-Assist in coordinating and implementing various rules education initiatives and training programs for athletics staff and student-athletes.
-Assist in investigating and reporting potential violations of NCAA, conference, and institutional policies, including filing necessary documentation.
-Support the use of compliance software and ensure accurate completion and submission of compliance-related forms.
-Collaborate with various offices across campus, including the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, and more, to support compliance efforts and ensure alignment with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
-Attend conferences, seminars, and other relevant meetings to stay informed on emerging trends and issues in NCAA regulations and compliance.
-Provide in-person consultation and service to student-athletes, and direct them to additional resources when needed.
-Perform other duties as assigned in support of the athletics compliance function.

ISU minimum for this classification is $19.01/hour.
