Description

Walsh University is seeking a graduate assistant coach for the Volleyball program. Walsh is a Division II University located in North Canton, Ohio. The Walsh Cavaliers compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the head and assistant coaches with all areas of managing the volleyball program including, but not limited to:

• Adhering to any and all NCAA, Great Midwest Athletic Conference and Walsh University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Assisting in the organization and direction of all activities of the varsity and junior varsity volleyball team.
• Assisting in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes to the University.
• Ability to coach athletes in any and all positions.
• Assisting with game strategy, film breakdown and video sessions.
• Transporting student-athletes for competition, practice, events as needed.
• Assisting with summer camps and fund-raising activities.
• Performing related departmental duties as required.
• Aiding in the marketing and social media presence of the program.
• Other duties as assigned or required by the Head Volleyball Coach and Vice President of Athletics/Athletics Director.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:

Education and Academic Status:

Bachelor's Degree required with appropriate related experience and admittance into a Graduate Program at the University.

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Experience playing or assisting in the sport of Volleyball preferred. Experience as a supervisor or peer leader preferred; Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, organizational skills, and sense of humor.Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Other skills or abilities may be required based on the department.

Working Conditions

• Hours of employment-20 hours: will require working flexiblehours during any part of the day or week, and may includeearly mornings, evenings, overnight hours, and weekends
