The University of Jamestown seeks a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women’s & Men’s Golf programs beginning in the Fall of 2024. The candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills along with the ability to show mature and responsible leadership and work well in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be accepted as a full-time, degree-seeking student in the UJ Master of Arts in Leadership graduate program including having completed a Bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the University of Jamestown.
• Demonstrate ability to be self-motivated, self-reflective, and to conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Golf experience as a collegiate student-athlete and/or experience coaching, working in the golf industry, or with the Rules of golf.
• Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license endorsement to assist with team travel.

Duties Include

• Practice: Assist in organization, scheduling, and running practices.
• Communication: Manage team social media and external communication.

• Practice: Assist in organization, scheduling, and running practices.
• Communication: Manage team social media and external communication.
• Recruiting: Identify and communicate with prospects, travel to competitions, conduct campus visits.
• Fundraising: Assist in team events to grow knowledge of, and support for, the program.
• Coaching: Assist with individual and team practices, competitions, and the opportunity to travel serving as the lead coach at times.
• Other duties include assisting with scheduling, facility management, academic support, strength and conditioning, and more.

Terms of Employment

• Two-year consecutive commitment running August 1 – May 31 of 2024 & 2025.
• Must maintain passing grades in enrolled Master of Arts in Leadership coursework.

Compensation

• Full graduate tuition for the Master of Arts in Leadership program.
• On-Campus housing.
• Meal plan selection from one of four meal plans offerings.
• Team/Coaching uniforms.
